MDAC has provided training support to the advocacy service within the Bishkek psychiatric hospital – the first advocacy service in central Asia. This followed MDAC's report (also available in Russian) which investigated the human rights of people with mental health problems, dealing with issues such as the right to community integration, the right to food, the right to life, and the problem of corruption.
In 2007 MDAC produced its report "Human Rights and Guardianship in Kyrgyzstan", which is available in English. The Russian text is coming soon.
Kyrgyzstan has not signed the UN Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. See why it should sign and ratify the Convention now, and how you can join us in our campaign to encourage ratification by clicking here.
