Georgia
MDAC has researched the guardianship system in Georgia as part of a multi-country investigation on guardianship. The recommendations contained in the report have been used by us and our partner NGOs to encourage the Georgian government to improve its mental health legislation and more specifically to introduce alternatives to guardianship, such as supported-decision making programmes.
Georgia has not signed the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. See why it should sign and ratify the Convention now and how you can join us in our campaign to encourage ratification by clicking here .
Please consider supporting us in our work in Geogia and elsewhere by making a donation to MDAC.
