MDAC has researched guardianship and human rights in Georgia as part of a multi-country investigation (download pdf in English, pdf in Georgian). Although Georgia has not signed the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in 2009 MDAC will step up its work in Georgia by building the capacity of the Georgian Ombudsman Office to better deal with the rights of people with disabilities, and by building the capacity of civil socity to advocate for the Georgian Government to ratifiy and effectively implement the Convention.
